In Section 3 of the Bible Lesson, we read the account of Jesus walking on the water, taken from Matthew 14:22-33. In that account, we learn that Jesus asked his disciples to get into a boat and cross over the sea, while he stayed behind to finish up some business and pray for a bit. When Jesus was finished with his praying, he, too, crossed over the sea-by walking on the water! In this week’s Christian Science Bible Lesson titled, “Mortals and Immortals,” there’s a very interesting opportunity for Readers to make that correlation clear, while at the same time, conveying an important life-lesson to students of the Scriptures. It’s the job of Christian Science Readers to clearly convey the relationship of one book to the other. The Christian Science weekly Bible Lesson presents citations from the Holy Bible, together with citations from the Christian Science textbook, “ Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,” written by Mary Baker Eddy. The citations from “Science and Health” explain the Bible citations. CORRELATING THE BIBLE AND “ SCIENCE AND HEALTH WITH KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES”
